My baby boy finished up middle school this week. He has always been the "sweet" one but lately his hormones have kicked into gear and he's been a bit moody. I still love him but living with 2 moody teenagers is rough. I hear girls are harder, too! I'm scared.
Dallin is extremely smart and gets straight A's without trying. He is 2 years ahead in math, so next year in high school he will be taking the same math as the 11th graders. I think that he is starting to get embarrassed out his brain, but I hope this doesn't stop him from keeping it up. He is so naturally smart....it is such a gift.
Dallin LOVES his friends and always wants to do something. If there is no school, he will most definitely ask "what are we doing today?" and if there is nothing planned then he will plan it.
He is still the shortest in his group, but has grown a couple of inches this school year. His brother really grew in 9th grade so I'm anticipating Dallin doing the same.
Throughout middle school, Dallin loved any kind of puzzle and learned to solve a rubix cube really quickly. This resulted in him getting tons of brain teaser puzzles for every birthday and holiday.
Band became big for Dallin in middle school and he was asked to march with the high school marching band on clarinet last year. He also took up oboe and practiced so hard at that that he placed in the middle school parish honor band. He took private oboe lessons from an LSU student every Monday night.
I can't believe that Dallin is heading to high school last year. I blinked and my baby is a grown up! It makes me sad but also excited to see what is in store for him. Our home would be extremely boring without Dallinator in it!
